Capital City Comic Con Exclusives – The Official Kevin Eastman 30th Anniversary Edition & Dead-Pooh #3

Here’s some really cool news about a couple of Capital City Comic Con (CCCC) exclusives that many of you TMNT fans will be interested in.  These comics aren’t associated with IDW but they do contain (or pay homage to) our beloved Turtles and are being created just for Capital City Comic Con (CCCC) in Austin, TX this coming July 11-13, 2014.

The first of the CCCC exclusives comes straight from Kevin Eastman Studios…The Official Kevin Eastman 30th Anniversary Edition.  This comic will contain 20 pages of rare works and story, all by Kevin Eastman.  The Official Kevin Eastman 30th Anniversary Edition will have two cover variants.

The first cover available for The Official Kevin Eastman 30th Anniversary Edition is the Regular full-color variant with a cover by Paolo Pantalena that depicts Super Shredder battling Kevin Eastman, with a special appearance by Courtney Eastman.  Colorist Nei Ruffino provides the colors.  The back cover is blank with a paper stock ideal for sketching.  This edition is limited to 1,000 copies and each one is individually (mechanically) numbered.  The Regular edition will be available for purchase at the CCCC July 11-13 or via pre-show sale and is being offered in 3 different formats: raw (unsigned and ungraded) and two different CGC Signature Series (SS) 9.8 versions (see below for more details on these SS versions).

The second of the covers for The Official Kevin Eastman 30th Anniversary Edition is the Artist Proof Sketch variant with a black & white version of the same Paolo Pantalena cover art used for the Regular edition.  The back cover is also blank with a paper stock ideal for sketching.  This edition is extremely limited at only 50 copies!  The Artist Proof Sketch edition is available only via pre-show sale and will not be offered at the CCCC.

Pricing and purchasing details for these CCCC exclusives are listed below.

  1. Regular (Paolo Pantalena) – regular cover in full color; limited to 1,000 copies, each individually numbered and available for purchase in 3 different formats.  This edition (all formats) can be purchased either at the CCCC July 11-13 or via pre-show sale.
    • Raw – ungraded and unsigned; $30 each + shipping
    • CGC Signature Series 9.8 – signed by Kevin Eastman, Courtney Eastman, Paolo Pantalena, and Nei Ruffino; $115 each + shipping (price includes CGC fees, fast track, and signature verification)
    • CGC Signature Series 9.8 Shredder – signed by Kevin Eastman, Courtney Eastman, Paolo Pantalena, Nei Ruffino, and Francois Chau (a.k.a. Shredder from TMNT 2: The Secret of the Ooze); $155 each + shipping (price includes CGC fees, fast track, and signature verification)
  2. Artist Proof Sketch (Paolo Pantalena) – artist proof sketch cover in black & white; limited to 50 copies; $65 each + shipping.  This edition is available only via pre-show sale.

Another CCCC exclusive that may be of interest to TMNT fans is the Dead-Pooh #3 CCCC exclusive by Marat Mychaels.  While this comic doesn’t depict or contain the TMNT, the cover art is an homage to the cover for TMNT Vol. I #10 by Peter Laird.  The Dead-Pooh #3 CCCC exclusive is available via pre-show sale; if not sold out, remaining copies will be available for purchase at the CCCC July 11-13.

  1. Dead-Pooh #3 (Marat Mychaels) – TMNT Vol. I #10 homage cover; limited to 25 copies; $40 each + shipping

Pre-show sale copies for all editions above can be obtained by emailing Glynn at CCCC directly via The Technodrome Forums.  Shipping in the continental US is $6; contact Glynn regarding international shipping rates.

Isn’t Kevin Nash the Super Shredder? Just wondering why Francois Chau is signing it if it features super shredder? I can understand the other 4.

Nash was the Super Shredder so that’s a good question (and one I don’t know the answer to unfortunately).

The Reason we have Mr Francois is because he does little to no show. We want to give fan the chance to see someone they cant see anywhere other. Even though this is super shredder other my just see this as a shredder. Mr Nash is well know in the show circuit. Mr Francois is not. Hope this helps.
