Free Comic Book Day – The Turtles are Back !!

FCBD-2013

Leo, Mikey, Don, and Raph are back at Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) but, this year, they’ll be animated.  The “TMNT New Animated Adventures” book will be a GOLD Level book which should make it available at most participating local comic shops.  To find a participating store near you, use the FCBD 2013 Store Locator service.

I’ve traveled all over for FCBD in the past…Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, and even Frankfurt, Germany a few years ago.   However, this year I’m very excited to make the trek across the country to Jetpack Comics in Rochester, NH to join Ralph and his excellent crew as they celebrate FCBD like nobody else (at least that’s what I’ve heard 🙂 ).  Also, in case you weren’t aware, Kevin Eastman will be one of the special guests signing at Jetpcak Comics this year and I’m very excited to finally meet him.  In over 25 years of collecting TMNT I’ve never once met Kevin (or Peter for that matter) in person.  If you live in the Rochester, NH area or will be traveling in yourself, drop me a note to let me know you’ll be there.  I won’t be in costume but I might make myself “visible.”

    Mr Maczaps :
Yeah, its about 30 minutes between the two locations.
I’ve always gone down to Jetpack and enjoyed the show but after a while the crowd gets to me.
I figure I will do the run of getting all the freebie comics and then go see Kevin & Rich Woodall (check him out, his Johnny Raygun is stellar!) and whoever else is there. Normally I just hang out and wonder around for a bit but I’m just going to jet over to Shellback and hang out there since I’ve met but never really talked to Peter & the others… That and I’m buying some original art from Steve (Lawson’s pages) again…
If you’re there, say hello! I’ll be wearing a jetpack….

this should have been a reply to nick… sorry!

    Can’t wait!!

Drop me a line if you want! I’ll be there (& in costume!)!!
I’ll be headed over to Shellback at some point too because Steve has some folks coming to visit. I don’t know if he’s posted who, so I won’t say just yet…

WOW…so Jetpack & Shellback in 1 day???? This may get a little nutty. How far apart are they??

My GUESS is we would have to choose between KE & PL. Hopefully they are smart and make Shellback a little bit later in the day.

I should be there as well! I met Kevin last year at a convention and already had him sign a bunch of stuff and got a great sketch from him, but now that I’ve met Peter and the rest of the Mirage crew at Shellback I’ve got another batch of things for him to sign. I just hope its not another 4 hours of waiting in line this time. Worth it either way, though!

I will be there as well…can’t wait! I remember hearing a long time ago they they would be trying to get a few different IDW turtle artists up there for FCBD, so I have my fingers crossed. Anyways…I have met Peter at Shellback Artworks last year and I have a bunch of stuff I now need to get signed by Kevin…..plus a sketch would be awesome! I hope there is a CGC witness there.
