TMNT #1 (IDW) Trick-or-Treat Edition – Halloween Comicfest (HCF) 2012

Diamond Comic Distributors started providing mini-comics for comics shops to order as giveaways on Halloween just a few years ago.  Last year at the New York Comic Con (NYCC) they announced the expansion of this tradition to include both mini-comics and full-sized editions.  Now, Halloween Comicfest (as it’s now known) will be similar in style to Free Comic Book Day except that participating local comic shops (LCS) get to determine whether they sell, give away, or provide as incentive these select comic books made available by Diamond.

This year, TMNT #1 (IDW) will be one of the 3 full-sized comic books offered by Diamond for Halloween Comicfest (HCF) 2012.  This printing is being solicited as the HCF TMNT #1 (IDW) Trick-or-Treat Edition.  The art used for this edition is the same as the TMNT #1 Eastman RI A incentive cover with a variant green/orange Halloween-themed color-scheme.  The edition reads “HAPPY HALLOWEEN” on the cover under the IDW logo.  Original solicitation details below.  Available on September 26, 2012.

Every LCS will be different so be sure to ask your LCS owner whether they plan to acquire this edition and, if so, how they plan to distribute it to customers.

Yep. All lists show this as a Sept. 26 release and it was solicited in the July PREVIEWS (which contains Sept. books). I’m sure the advanced date is to allow vendors the time to plan and distribute this as they see fit (or to ensure a delay in the release date won’t impact Halloween).
