I do agree that all the stuff can be confusing but…that’s what I’m here for. I try to break it down and make it as simple as possible. Let me know if you have any specific questions. Use the “Contact Me” form to the right if you want to email. Thanks for visiting!

I seen the UC at a comic book store and wanted it, but then my friend said to get the color classics instead. You are saying they are different other then the coloring? I thought they both contained Issues 1-7 and the Ralph micro series with commentary. How are they different? Im just looking to get the original collection of comics, in color would just be a bonus. Thanks!

I think they slightly differ in layout but both have the same content. I also think there is additional commentary in the UC. If you’re just interested in getting the original comics and in color then the Color Classics would be the way to go.

Not unless they release more TMNT Color Classics that correspond to those issues. The Works books are the collected TMNT Color Classics issues from IDW. They aren’t associated with the Ultimate Collections other than they collect some of the same issues.

From what I’ve heard so far it sounds as if they’re done with the Color Classics for now.

I already caved & pre ordered this & volume 2 from Amazon. All the classic stories look way too awesome in full color to pass up.

I was just about to start collecting UC but now considering this. Although I understand there were a few colouring issues and that in issue 5 page 28 was omitted and page 15 reprinted in its place! Please tell me that has been resolved for this?

I would hope any errors would be resolved in the collection but I guess we’ll only see when it comes out.

So has anybody been able to confirm if IDW fixed up the duplicate/missing page for this collection?
I also recall in some issues that there was the odd occasion where single letters would be missing from words.

Is this IDW releasing ALL TMNT books? For YEARS I’ve wanted the full collection to come out, but keep getting collections with random issues. I’m not thrilled that its in color, but something that’s finally chronological would be nice.

This is a collection of the Color Classics IDW is doing. If you want a collection of the originals, the Ultimate Collection HC editions are what you’re looking for. Those collect all the original Eastman & Laird issues.

Hmmm, so basically this is the exact same thing as “The Ultimate Collection vol.1” but in full color & more pricey. I won’t be getting this becuase I already purchased the “ultimate collections” & pre ordered the last two. It’s definaley adding up cost wise. It’s bad enough IDW has like 5 different variant covers for each issue of the new series. Good grief!

It’s so confusing trying to jump on board with the TMNT series if you’re a total TMNT noobie like myself. You have to do some serious googling before clicking buy on anything. IDW could of done this a lot better than they have.

    i don’t think i’m picking this up.
it would have been nice to know it was coming or for them to just done this in the first place.
i have all the original books (just about), and so far I have been enjoying seeing them in full color, but i’m feeling quite tapped out on this series…
with all the variants of the regular & mini’s plus the hc reprints… just can’t do this one.

I hear ya…there’s an awful lot and it’s adding up fast. I think you can just assume IDW will collect (either TPB or HC) nearly everything they publish as single comics.
