TMNT Vol. V #009 (IDW)

Here’s the info. on the variants for TMNT #9 from IDW.  Available on April 25, 2012.  New story arc featuring the Foot Clan.  NOTE: there has been a shipping error on Diamond’s end that will cause this issue to arrive 1 week later than scheduled in parts of the U.S. (exact areas impacted are unknown).  UPDATE (4/25):  all covers have arrived on time in the Denver, CO area.

  1. Cover A (Dan Duncan) – regular cover shipped in a 4:1 ratio (A:B) in a single order (i.e., if shops order only 1 copy they get Cover A; if they order 4 copies of Cover A they can then purchase one copy of Cover B)
  2. Cover B (Kevin Eastman) – regular cover shipped in a 4:1 ratio (A:B) in a single order (i.e., shops must order 4 copies of Cover A in order to purchase one copy of Cover B)
  3. Cover RI (Ethan Nicolle, of “Axe Cop” fame) – 10 copy Retailer Incentive (i.e., shops that order 8 copies of Cover A and 2 copies of Cover B get this one free)

TMNT Global Conquest Day !!

Hey all you international TMNT fans!!  Today’s the day you get up to speed with the rest of us on the TMNT series (if you haven’t already).  The IDW international license for TMNT will now provide you international fans all the same TMNT (IDW) issues that the U.S. fans get.  However, to kick off the international launch, IDW has issued special “Global Conquest” editions of the previously released TMNT (IDW) #1-5 + Raphael #1.  These long-awaited Global Conquest editions go on sale today (Jan. 18) so check your local comic shop for them.  Truly an awesome release day!!

TMNT #001 (IDW) – RI D Covers

TMNT #001 (IDW) Makes Top 500 for 2011

Here’s a bit of good news for a non-TMNT release Wednesday…

In 2011, TMNT #1 (IDW) ranked 417 for total quantity and 239 for sales.  Now, of course it’s obvious this is largely due to the sheer amount of variant covers for #1 but hey, it’s still cool to see our beloved TMNT back in print!

View the list of the top 500 for 2011 in case you’re curious. (more…)

BREAKING NEWS !! Multiple TMNT comics delays and delivery issues…

Hey everyone, for the last couple of weeks it’s been extremely difficult to keep track of all the IDW TMNT releases as it seems there are multiple different stories going around about what’s shipping when.  Not sure if this is Diamond’s issue (likely) or something else but I’ve been feverishly researching this and I think I have a good-enough handle on things to provide what I’d call a “90% certainty” update for you on some titles.

CONFIRMED First, let’s start with the TMNT Global Conquest editions.  I’m not sure if you’ve all been in the same boat as me with the recent planned releases of the editions but I haven’t seen a single one of these appear anywhere yet (including in both of my comics orders –  1 state-side and 1 International).  Well, that may be because it seems that they’ve been delayed until Jan. 18.  Again, I have not yet been able to nail down a cause here but based on my conversations with local comic shops the finger seems to point at Diamond’s distribution problems.  Oh what fun a comic distribution monopoly is, right?

Happy New Year 2012 !!

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year !!  A very big and sincere “thank you” to everyone for visiting my blog and following me on Twitter.  I’m very excited for what’s in store for tmnt-ninjaturtles in 2012.

2011 was truly an amazing year for the TMNT but I have a feeling we’re in for a great 2012 as well…

Red vs. Colored Bandannas

After reading TMNT #5 you’re now aware of the move to colored bandannas for the TMNT.  I know this is somewhat controversial in the TMNT community but I personally don’t see why it matters.  I think it’s cool either way and IDW handled it well by writing in a story line to support the move to colored bandannas.  I’ve been a TMNT collector for 25 years and I’m sure not upset in any way about them.  Plus, this isn’t a new concept as it is how most of the world knows the TMNT anyway; why can’t IDW inject some new and fresh things?  Mirage doesn’t own them anymore and it’s great to see new life injected into them.  If you think that the TMNT must have red bandannas then I’d like to hear why so I can better understand why it’s such a big deal.

Covers for #7 and #8 by Duncan previously depicted the TMNT with red bandannas but, due to the bandanna color change in #5, IDW will be changing them to colored for release.  Below is the updated cover art for #7 and #8 along with the previous versions for comparison.  See what you think.  I like it.

1 Week Delay for TMNT #1 (IDW) – 1:50 Retailer Incentive (RI D) Eastman Sketch

I just found out that the Eastman-sketched 50 copy incentives for TMNT #1 (Cover RI D) are now delayed by one week to  Jan. 4, 2012.  Again, these are limited to approx. 500 copies.

For images, Archon_Turtle posted some pictures of his copies that he received directly from Kevin Eastman.  You can check them out on The Technodrome Forums.

Merry Christmas !!

Merry Christmas TMNT fans!

Hope you have a wonderful day with your friends and family.
