- TMNT/Usagi Samurai Special (Stan Sakai) – NOTE: This is actually NOT a variant cover for the TMNT-Usagi Yojimbo One-Shot. However, I get many questions about it so I figured I’d document it here. This cover is for an action figure ‘pack-in’ book that has a completely different title… “TMNT/Usagi Yojimbo Samurai Special.” The contents of this ‘pack-in’ book are completely unique and different than the TMNT/Usagi Yojimbo One-Shot. It’s actually a very small and thin book in comparison to the TMNT/Usagi Yojimbo One-Shot. As far as I know, this Samurai Special ‘pack-in’ was only included with the Limited Edition SDCC 2017 Usagi Yojimbo figure from Playmates. Kevin Eastman was also selling a few individual loose copies via his website.

Alexander, that pack-in book is not a variant cover of the TMNT/Usagi Yojimbo One-Shot. It’s actually a completely different book titled “TMNT/Usagi Yojimbo Samurai Special,” the contents of which are completely unique and different than the TMNT/Usagi Yojimbo One-Shot. As far as I know, the only Usagi Yojimbo figure that had this Samurai Special included with it was the SDCC 2017 Usagi Yojimbo figure from Playmates.

I added a note above about it. Also, it will be listed on my full collection. I decided not to individually list it with the IDW releases because it’s borderline action-figure only…so, an IDW comic but not solicited as such.
